Peromyscus leucopus genome
The P. leucopus genome published by Alan Barbour and Anthony Long and their co-investigators
A major paper appeared today in Science Advances by a team that included long time user, collaborator and friend of the PGSC Dr Alan Barbour from the University of California at Irvine. For the study animals from the PGSC have been used. Considering that P. leucopus is the natural host for Lyme disease this paper is expected to contribute significantly to our understanding of disease pathogenesis. it is also expected to shed light on the evolution of the animals of the genus Peromyscus and to provide valuable tools for genomic analyses. The citation of the paper is: A. D. Long, J. Baldwin-Brown, Y. Tao, V. J. Cook, G. Balderrama-Gutierrez, R. Corbett-Detig, A. Mortazavi, A. G.
